Quick Mulan sketch to relax. I’m working on some non-personal stuff still, every time I’m doing a drawing for someone else, be it a commission/kiriban/special request my brain just goes into OCD mode and nothing’s ever good and everything has to be perfect so it takes time…

This was a 44,444th pageview kiriban on deviantArt for IdentityCrisis01, brief was to draw hanboks (Korean traditional dresses) so for me that naturally became Princesses in hanboks. This was fun because the dresses are so gorgeous, I tried to keep them looking traditional while keeping each princess’s style.

Mulan in her designer princess dress.  I contemplated a bit between a proper Chinese suit or a normal western tux/suit for Shang, in the end compromised and went for a suit with Chinese collar.  I couldn’t stop myself from associating the fully Chinese suit look with cheesy kung fu-films.
